Limited-Time Shop Now Open

"Asakusa Okaki," a new local specialty born in Asakusa this July, is opening a limited-time shop in front of the main entrance of Asakusa ROX (ROX 1F entrance) from September 18 to September 30, 2026.

Its key selling points are being additive-free and gluten-free, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a gentle, body-friendly snack. It is introduced as an okaki (Japanese rice cracker) unlike any before, with a light, crispy texture and a deep, savory umami and toasty aroma.

How It's Sold

Okaki is sold by weight in special cups or paper bags:

• 500 yen for 30 g in a special cup
• 1,000 yen for 80 g in a special paper bag

You can easily buy just as much as you want to eat.

Lineup

There are two flavors: Genmai (brown rice) and Soft. You can enjoy comparing the distinct character of each: the toasty flavor unique to brown rice, and the light, soft-textured type. Samples are also available, so you can taste before you decide.

Located right along your Asakusa sightseeing route, it looks set to be a new discovery for tourists and local regulars alike. Take a break with some okaki in hand and be sure to try Asakusa's new specialty.
