Taito City Launches Autumn Tourism Campaign
Taito City has launched a tourism campaign timed for the autumn sightseeing season. The highlight is a stamp rally that takes place across the ward, including the Asakusa area, in which participants collect stamps as they visit multiple stops.
The walking routes combine the familiar atmosphere of Asakusa with attractions in various parts of the ward, and are designed to encourage visitors to stop by places they might not usually visit. Events run in cooperation with local shopping streets are also being held, adding the fun of visiting local shops, so visitors can enjoy both sightseeing and shopping.
Collecting stamps while strolling at a relaxed pace through the old downtown (shitamachi) streets in the crisp autumn air is a way to spend the day that families and friends alike can enjoy. It also looks set to be an opportunity for local shopping streets to meet and interact with new visitors.
Through this initiative, Taito City appears to be aiming to revitalize the community by encouraging visitors to tour the ward and to improve tourist circulation. This autumn, why not take part in this stamp rally while exploring Asakusa, and rediscover the charms of the ward?
