Asakusa View Hotel Annex Rokku, operated by Hulic Hotel Management Co., Ltd., has been selected as a "Selected Hotel" in the "MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection 2026" for the second year in a row, three years after opening in 2023.
The hotel was originally scheduled to open in 2020, but the opening was postponed due to the pandemic, and it opened in March 2023. It is located in "Asakusa Koen Rokku" (Asakusa Park Rokku), an area lined with movie theaters, yose (variety halls) and theaters since the early Showa era. Its concept is an experiential hotel where guests can feel the real Asakusa.
Highlights That Earned Recognition
- Stage events: At the first-floor restaurant "Broadway Rokku," guests can enjoy performances of Asakusa geisha dance and Noh every weekend on a hinoki cypress stage relocated from the Kabuki-za Theatre in Ginza. Guests can also take commemorative photos with the performers. It is a restaurant theater where you can enjoy dishes made with a focus on dashi broth.
- Japanese design: While incorporating an Art Deco style, the entrance is designed to evoke a kabuki theater and uses wooden joinery made of Nara's Yoshino hinoki cypress. The guest rooms also feature kabuki elements and chabudai-style (low dining table-style) tables.
- Premium lounge "FURUMAI": This lounge on the 10th floor is exclusively for hotel guests. Guests can enjoy famous Asakusa confections, old-fashioned sweets and drinks free of charge while taking in views of Tokyo Skytree®.
- Breakfast: The menu makes use of ingredients from long-established local Asakusa shops, including the Asakusa Burger and a Japanese set meal featuring Fukagawa-meshi. The Asakusa Burger is scheduled to be discontinued in April 2027.
"Selected" is a MICHELIN category for about 250 accommodations in Japan. The hotel was recognized for offering experiences unique to Asakusa.
