Asakusa Kokono Theater Boost Project: Gekidan Sports #14 "The Night of Chuuren Poutou"

Gekidan Sports presents "The Night of Chuuren Poutou," a "youth mahjong record-review comedy" that overlays mahjong with life, at Asakusa Kokono Theater. The production is part of the Asakusa Kokono Theater Boost Project and runs from Wednesday, December 2 to Sunday, December 6, 2026.

Story

Looking out over the audience from the stage, there is still no sign of the one who was supposed to come. We haven't seen each other since the night the legendary yakuman "Chuuren Poutou" appeared, the hand said to bring death to whoever wins with it. This is a play made for that person, so we stop the performance and begin the theater. Meeting is a "draw," parting is a "choice." This is a "mahjong narrative comedy" for us who have forgotten how to play, and the message is: "No mahjong knowledge needed!"

Cast & Staff

The cast is Ren Takeuchi, Mihiro Tajima and Yamato Uchida (all of Gekidan Sports), Jiro Omiya (Compsons), Yuki Koga, Shintaro Kamiyama (Gaga) and Ryota Nakamura (Tenten Hanten). Written and directed by Yamato Uchida.
