Walking the Sites Linked to Asakusa's Comedians: From Enoken to Beat Takeshi

A special lecture and walking tour, "Walking the Sites Linked to Asakusa's Comedians: From Enoken to Beat Takeshi," will be held on October 31, starting from Asakusa Public Hall in Taito-ku. It is organized by the Japan Comedians Association.

Lecturers and Program

The lecturers are entertainer Kuniko Yamada, the 11th president of the association, and Noboru Saijo, a professor at Edogawa University and comedy historian. The special lecture at the Public Hall runs for 70 minutes in a talk show format. They will introduce valuable materials from the time and explore the history of Asakusa and comedy.

Walking Tour

After the lecture, you will walk to sites linked to comedians, including the area around Senso-ji, together with the two lecturers. From Enoken to Beat Takeshi, you can experience the footsteps of the comedians nurtured by Asakusa within the actual streets of the town.
