Published Sep 6, 2026
Asakusa Shrine began offering a special goshuin themed around Chōyō no Sekku on September 6, 2026. Chōyō no Sekku is one of the five seasonal festivals (Gosekku), in which chrysanthemum flowers are used to pray for longevity and eternal youth, and the goshuin incorporates this design. After worshipping at the main hall, visitors can receive the goshuin at the amulet office. As a limited-edition goshuin that lets visitors feel the change of seasons, it is expected to be popular among those who enjoy collecting goshuin. Asakusa Shrine distributes special seasonal goshuin throughout the year, and this one was planned as part of that program. Details on the distribution period and the hatsuho-ryō (offering fee) are provided from time to time on the shrine's official website. Many visitors stop by together with sightseeing in Asakusa, making this one of the topics that add color to autumn in Asakusa.
