Baristas Take Center Stage at "Sensing Marche" During the Kappabashi Dougugai Festival

Published Oct 2, 2026

At the cafe Sensing Touch of Earth, located along Kappabashi Kitchen Town, the first-ever "Sensing Marche" will be held for three days from Saturday, October 10 to Monday, October 12 (national holiday), 2026, to coincide with the 41st Kappabashi Dougugai Festival.

The baristas who usually serve espresso at the counter will host the marche together with the cafe's management for these three days. Participants include staff members with diverse working styles and personalities: those who work a second job mainly on weekends, those who run a shared-space cafe alongside their work, and those who create art in their daily lives.

Marche Details

  • Original roasted coffee beans for sale
  • Hand-drip coffee
  • Chiffon cakes and canelés for sale
  • Ceramic works on display and for sale
  • Art and photography works
  • Original nail tips for sale

The first-floor cafe will also offer handmade one-hand sweets perfect for the festival. New treats include the "Matcha Cassata," an ice-cream-like cold cheesecake containing fruit and arare (rice crackers), and the "Matcha Stick Cheesecake," which lets you enjoy rich matcha flavor. The marche is held in the second-floor space.
