Asakusa Future Design Panel Exhibition-Style Discussion Session (Taito City Citizens' Hall)
Published Oct 7, 2026
Based on the "Asakusa Future Design: Urban Development Vision," formulated in fiscal 2025 (Reiwa 7), Taito City will hold a discussion session aimed at making the area around Asakusa Station and the Sumida River "a new hub for strolling around Asakusa."
Event Details
- Date & Time: Wednesday, October 28 – Friday, October 30, 2026 (Reiwa 8), 11:00–16:00
- Venue: Taito City Citizens' Hall, 9th Floor, Special Meeting Room (Middle)
At the venue, panels and other materials about "Asakusa Future Design" will be on display, and the thinking and key points behind the initiatives will be explained in a dialogue format.
Background
The vision depicts the town roughly 20 years from now and sets out the "Program for Creating New Strolling Hubs" for its realization. The city will consider directions for urban infrastructure development, such as creating spaces where the station, the waterfront and the town are connected as one, securing safe spaces that can also serve for evacuation during disasters, and expanding transport hub functions for railways, buses, water buses and more.
So that Asakusa continues to be an attractive town where people want to live and visit, we are seeking opinions and ideas from local residents and people from a wide range of backgrounds. For inquiries, contact the Regional Development Division No. 2 (03-5246-1366).
