Asakusa Geisha Ozashiki Dance, Autumn 2026

Event Overview

"Asakusa Geisha Ozashiki Dance" will be held at the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center for the autumn 2026 season.

The event takes place on Saturdays: October 3, 17, 24, 31, and November 7, 14. It is a valuable opportunity to see up close the traditional performing arts that live on in Asakusa's geisha district (hanamachi).

Program

The program will include ozashiki dance, hokan (taikomochi) performances by a hokan entertainer, and a corner where visitors can experience ozashiki games themselves.

As it offers an easy way to enjoy the art of the geisha, usually seen only at banquet rooms (ozashiki), the event is popular not only with tourists but also with local fans. It is a rare opportunity for anyone who wants to experience Japanese traditional culture and the refined world of the hanamachi.

Capacity limits may be set for each event date, so we recommend confirming details with the organizer.
