(Love Alone, I Don't Need Anymore.) since Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as new content for a project that aims to share the appeal of Taito City's leather industry with younger generations.
About the Drama
The story is set in Taito City, including Asakusa and Ueno. Through the daily lives of young people struggling with love and work, it portrays the charm of the townscape and leather products. The drama has 10 episodes of about 1 to 2 minutes each, streamed every Tuesday and Friday on Instagram and TikTok.
Synopsis
Ryosuke Tawaramachi (26), who loves romance, keeps meeting people through dating apps but has recently been struggling to feel any excitement. While he spends his days hanging around the atelier of Iriya, his childhood friend and a leather shoe craftsman, suspicious figures begin to lurk around Iriya. It is a chaotic romantic ensemble comedy in which the characters hesitate, misunderstand, and take detours along the way.
Taito City and the Leather Industry
Taito City is one of Japan's leading production areas, home to manufacturers, craftspeople, and shops of leather goods such as shoes, bags, wallets, and belts. However, in a survey conducted this May, awareness of the leather industry remained at only about 20%. The drama features leather products made in Taito City and real local spots, aiming to prompt viewers to think "So this is what Taito City is like!" and lead to an interest in craftsmanship.
The cast includes Seiichi Kohinata, Yo Aoi, Mao Asahina, Suzuka Oshima, and Karin Yamamoto. The director is Keita Yoshikawa, and the screenplay is by Aoi Yoshimura. The official Instagram account is "leather_town_taito."
