Yakiniku Kawashima, a yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) restaurant in Hashiba 1-chome, Taito-ku, marked one month since its opening on October 19.
Owner Toshinori Kawashima has devoted himself to yakiniku since the age of 18 and has more than 20 years of experience. He gained experience at yakiniku restaurants in Azabu, Akasaka, Kagurazaka and other areas, and has also served as head chef.
The restaurant is located in the former site of an izakaya that his wife, Shion, had visited with her family since she was a child. It began when the izakaya's owner, who was considering closing, approached them. Marks recording the heights of Shion and her siblings are still on a pillar in the tatami seating area.

Only Wagyu is used, including tongue and skirt steak (harami), and Japanese Black Wagyu is used for the tongue. Great care is taken in preparation, with an emphasis on "being able to enjoy the same quality every time you visit." The restaurant uses smokeless roasters.
