Sumu Asakusa South Grand Opening

Sumu Asakusa South, the first location of the experimental apartment hotel "Sumu powered by Airbnb Partners" operated by Kasoku Co., Ltd., will hold its grand opening on Saturday, October 10, 2026 in 3-chome Kotobuki, Taito-ku. It is the first newly built property, reflecting the trials at the pilot location "Sumu Ueno East," which opened in February 2026.

Features of the Facility

The 10-story building has 17 rooms in total, aiming to combine the comfort of mid- to long-term stays with experiences that connect guests to the neighborhood. On the first floor is "Sumu Lounge," which is open to the community and offers a "Book Gallery" with books selected by Tsutaya Books concierges, as well as "Sumu Goods."

Three Room Categories

• Pet Friendly: Welcome Dog, a room where you can stay with your dog (1 room, with a private porch allowing direct entry from outdoors)
• Sumu Culture: Four themes: Play, Books, Meditation, and Music (7 rooms). Rooms feature books curated by CCC, records, and the transformable furniture "Sumu Wall"
• Sumu Standard: Standard 4, Standard 6, and Standard Deluxe 8 (9 rooms). Designed for mid- to long-term stays for families and groups

Connections with the Neighborhood

The tableware in the rooms was selected in cooperation with a lifestyle goods shop in Kuramae. Kyoto traditional craft products and dead-stock furniture from a long-established woodworking factory in Asahikawa that has closed down have also been introduced. The "Sumu Local Life Map," which connects guests with the local area, is also available.

Address: 3-17-10 Kotobuki, Taito-ku, Tokyo. It is a 3- to 6-minute walk from Asakusa Station, Kuramae Station, and Tawaramachi Station. Rates start from 35,000 yen per room per night (tax included; varies by season and day of the week). Check-in is at 16:00 and check-out is at 11:00. Reservations are accepted on the official booking site.
