Asakusa Imagawayaki "Tsuki no Usagi" Opens at AEON MALL Yachiyo Midorigaoka

"Tsuki no Usagi," a freshly baked imagawayaki specialty shop operated by MARU Co., Ltd., will hold its grand opening on the 2nd floor of AEON MALL Yachiyo Midorigaoka in Yachiyo, Chiba Prefecture, on Thursday, October 15, 2026. It is the second store in Chiba Prefecture after the Makuhari store. The Makuhari store sells an average of 3,000 pieces per day and is so popular that the wait can reach about 90 minutes on some days.

Authentic Red Bean Paste from a Long-Established Bean Paste Maker

The chunky red bean paste (tsubuan) is made with bean paste cooked by a long-established bean paste maker founded in 1950. Using 100% Hokkaido-grown azuki beans and carefully prepared with a method handed down from the previous generation, it has a lightly sweet taste that lets the natural flavor of the azuki beans come through. With an emphasis on the balance when eaten together with the batter, these imagawayaki are easy to enjoy to the very last bite.

"Tsuki no Usagi" aims to be chosen as an everyday snack or a small gift for family, rather than making imagawayaki a high-end sweet only for special days.
